The Reason For This Website
This website is a tribute to a beautiful woman, we all simply knew as ‘Anja’. It is placed here as a living memory of the life that she lead and because, before her death, Anja and I openly discussed how she would like to be remembered, what form of ‘gravestone’ she would like most and most significantly, because it is what she wanted.
The website was actually started before Anja passed away and she helped me to collate some of the material that is included here. It was my original intention for this site to be completed immediately after Anja left this world, but life, well it has a funny way of changing what we plan. I was too heartbroken to work on the site and as the weeks and months rolled by, I found I could not bear to open the directories, folders and articles that Anja had written, for no other reason, than that it simply hurt too much. Even now, as we draw close to the the first ‘anniversary’ of her death, I still struggle to make this site what we had planned together.
However, there has never been any doubt in my mind that this site would be completed, and so what you see before you now, is all I have left, in the form of photos, words, and feelings as expressed by Anja during the 8 years that we spent together.
This website is intended as a tribute, mainly for her family and friends to turn to as they feel the need, but if you are a visitor and should happen to have chanced upon this location, you are most welcome to browse through the pages and share Anja’s life with us. We would be honoured if you left your comments at any point where you so desire. Anja felt very strongly that her fight with cancer should be documented and shared with any and all, so that it may help others who needed to know the harsh realities of what terminal cancer meant when diagnosed.
For those of us who knew Anja, she will always be in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
Thank you
James
